For my work experience week I had my placement at The Loft and I really loved helping out and finding out about the graphic design business. As an aspiring designer I loved every minute but at the same time realised I have a lot to learn!
I learned that Adobe Illustrator is used to design and create websites and images for businesses and I created a few designs and logos in the program. Because I have never used it before I needed some help and Holly was very lovely and helped me use the program and advised me along the way when I was designing.
I also worked towards a brief to design for a specific client that was given to me by Becki. I liked playing around with different typography, styles and layouts because it makes a real difference when you are designing for a company or business. I found out how designs go from being a Image on a screen to an interactive website or print. I found it amazing how the websites are coded and how Vince could make them pixel perfect to Holly’s design! I realised that my basic HTML and CSS knowledge can be easily used to create an email design and small websites like blogs.
I even overcame my phobia of answering the phone, I may of messed it up sometimes by pressing the wrong button other than hold but i did answer it!
That was the only scary part, everyone at The Loft is so lovely and it is a really laid back happy atmosphere and I was more than happy to help! I wish I didn’t have to go back to school next week and could just stay here forever! I am defiantly going to improve my design skills on my macbook at home over the summer and maybe even create some coding for blog themes. I one hundred percent want to go into graphic design and am going to try to do it as a career next year when I leave sixth form!
I just want to thank the lovely Becki and Si for giving me this opportunity and to help me have a inside view into the design world and to Vince and Holly for helping me out and teaching me a lot of new things
It has been an awesome week and will keep my experience for a very long time! ♥

As the email is a crucial point of contact with most clients it can act as a great marketing tool. It is well worth taking the time to have a decent and personal email signature created. Not only does it strengthen your brand it can also contain important information about the services you offer, links to your website, or even just your postal address. All useful bits of information that a client might need quick access to and it is these little details that can make a difference.
Correspondence via email is one of the main ways we keep in touch with our clients. Some people prefer to send a quick email over a long telephone call. Having the conversation saved in your inbox for future reference is always useful. You can also get a lot more detail over to someone including files that may need to be sent.
After setting up our new website, we created a set of personal email signatures that tied in nicely to the style of our site. With links to our website, facebook and twitter accounts as well as the usual contact details, even a simple email can act as its own marketing piece.
If you would like to know more about setting up a HTML email signature then you can get in touch with our team who would be happy to help. Have a look at some of the example signatures we have set up already for some of our clients…

We always like it when we get some PR and it looks like one of our websites got us just that in last weeks Downtown Liverpool in Business emailer. We have created a lovely website for our friends over at Tender Management Consultancy. TMC, which helps firms win public sector contracts, recruited us to help position the company for more growth and it seems to be working after recently being awarded BEST NEWCOMER at the Business Awards.
Tender Management were a fantastic company to work with, always up for exploring new ideas. The website we created was content managed and the design was focused around a quality user interface with an added pinch of visual style. You can check it out here.
Jim Williams, founder of TMC, said: “It was really important for us to use a local design agency.”
“We have really enjoyed working with TMC – they were very focused with their brief. It is brilliant when a client is so clear on what they want to achieve.” Becki Wilson (Creative Director @ The Loft Ltd)

That’s not all we have done for Tender Management. The company came to us looking for a complete rebrand, from stationery to exhibition banners, along with HTML email campaigns and a complete set of HTML email signatures. See more projects we have worked on for TMC on our portfolio page.
Welcome to our new site. Christmas is almost here and so is our blog! We will get ready in the new year so that you can find out more about what is happening up here. Watch this space for some useful insights and interesting reads!
